L'OREAL INFALLIBLE PRO-MATTE 24HR FOUNDATION
The L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation is finally here in the Philippines. Yay! I've been waiting for this product in so long ever since I've read so many good reviews about it. When it was released in the country a few weeks back, we tried their lightest shade 103 "Natural Buff" and it appeared darker as compared to my skin tone. It costs 700 pesos, not bad for a foundation! But we did not purchase it at the time since we did not want to waste 700 pesos for something that we just want to try. It's not practical! Fortunately last weekend, Watsons & L'Oreal had their sale and the Infallible Pro-Matte was 50% off, leaving it with a price of only 350 pesos. Of course with that great deal, we ended up buying it! If you want to know if it was worth the money, please do keep on reading.;)
The L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation is a demi- matte finish foundation that could last up to 24 hours with oil control. It has an air-light texture that gives a medium coverage. When applied smoothly on the face, it leaves an oil-free, seemingly flawless skin.
Its packaging is a squeeze tube with a plastic cap that contains 30mL/ 1.0 fl. oz of the product. Since I have fair skin, I purchased their lightest shade 103 "Natural Buff".
The lightest shade, 103 "Natural Buff", appears pinkish on my skin. The consistency of the foundation is a bit runny, which I did not expect at all because of its "demi- matte" finish claim — something that usually comes from thicker foundation.
Upon swatching, you can already see the foundation really provides good coverage. However, upon applying it further, it is distinguishable that their lightest shade "Natural Buff" did not match my fair skin at all (which I already know upon purchasing, haha)! The foundation actually made my skin darker if you compare the left picture from the right one.
Using my Zoeva Rose Golden Vol.2 104 Buffer Brush, I applied the Infallible Pro-Matte all over my face and neck. NOTE: It is crucial to use a good brush or a sponge on applying the foundation since it is really hard to blend.
Application wise, the foundation is quite good! It concealed the redness and the pimples on my chin. The foundation also felt light on the skin and it does not feel sticky or oily at all. What I don't like about the foundation though, is that the pores on my cheeks and whiteheads on my nose were emphasized (Better use a pore filler next time, I guess). And also the shade!!!:( (My face and neck does not match the color of my arm and hand.)
After my whole day wearing the foundation, it held up pretty good! It left my skin oil-less (Technically not oil free — I blotted like once or twice).
WOULD I PURCHASE THIS FOUNDATION AGAIN? Sadly, No! Don't get confused, I do love everything about this foundation, like this could be my holy grail.. if only it matched my skin tone! — If you have fair skin like mine, I'm warning you, it's not a good idea to buy this foundation (especially for its original price, 700 pesos). But, if you have a different skin tone (lucky you:<), I would definitely recommend this!
Currently, the Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation has 6 shades out in the market (including the "Natural Buff"). I just hope L'Oreal PH would release other shades soon, specifically for fair skin like mine. Because honestly, this is by far THE BEST DRUGSTORE FOUNDATION I tried up to date!
